REAL STATE

Over a period of years I collected real estate advertisements from the Melbourne Times, I selected homes for their likeness to semi run-down properties I rented while a student in New Zealand and Melbourne. Old buildings that showed wear and tear from the previous owners. By cutting and ripping the images, I manipulated the images to reveal cavities behind the architectural layers, evoking a sense of suspicion and frailty from the domestic scenes. Evidence of digital decay can be seen in each image and references the process of enlarging a small real estate advertisement, the print itself holds stress marks similar to the image the paper presents.
